Cupcake: Dark Chocolate with Purple Vanilla Icing and a Candy Flower

Hey everyone! Today I have a realistic cupcake to share with you guys. I'll post the steps below.
Materials:
  • black clay for the base and cake
  • white clay for the flower petals
  • a bit of black for the flower center
  • dotted tool for cake texture
For the Frosting:
  • hair or baby oil (2-4 drops)
  • liquid glue or tls (translucent liquid Sculpey)
  • a tool with a flat end (plastic will work)
  • small container (I used the last half of a styrofoam cup)
For the Base:
  1. Shape the black clay into a rectangle, then pinch one side a bit on the edges to form a skinny bottom but wide top.
  2. Put more black clay on the circular top part, and it needs to be that wide, too. The top should be a bit peaked, to show rising and elevation.
Making the Frosting:
  1. Soften the purple until it is really, well, soft! It needs to be as smooth as possible, too.
  2. Once that's done, break it into pieces and put them into the container.
  3. Add 2-3 drops of liquid glue onto the clay.
  4. Stir it with the tool. This will be a bit messy, but the container will hold it all in.
  5. Add 2-4 (and not any more) drops of oil onto the clay in the container. This will make the frosting more creamy.
  6. Keep stirring and adding more glue.
  7. Use the tool to apply the frosting onto the cupcake. This is a bit hard; if it keeps slipping off use your hands. It feels like real frosting :) !
For the Flower:
  1. Shape the white clay into 6 little teardrops.
  2. Connect them into a flower shape.
  3. Mold the black clay into a circle, with the thickness the same as the petals'.
  4. Place it on the petals.
  5. Place the flowers on top of the flower.
Wah-la! You're done!
Stay tuned for more clay creations!
