Hayley, her little sister, Chloe, and their mom have finally settled into their new home above their Gran's tea shop. But things at school aren't so peachy. Hayley's former best friend, Artie, is back in the picture and getting between Hayley and her new pal Meghan. Artie and Meghan are like oil and water -- they just don't mix! This looks like another recipe for disaster!
My Review: So, this book was actually really good on the first read. However, when I read it again, it seemed really short and a little uninteresting. I wouldn't recommend buying this book, but instead checking it out at the library. It did describe the characters quite well, and it was a pretty funny book (on the first read). Hayley is the average 12 (or maybe 13) year old with a little sister, Chloe. Meghan is the school nerd and 7th grade rep., and is kinda bossy, but in a good way. Artemis is the typical best friend dumper, and is really mean to Hayley at parts but shows some interest with being friends again. And Marco is a pretty okay character in this book, but not in the second book when he "uses" Hayley. I liked when Meghan and Artie fought, mainly because some of the lines turned out funny. The author did a good job of making the book sound like it could really happen; nothing was rushed or anything, as there is a difference of being short and a difference with being rushed. So overall, a good read that deserves 4 stars.
