Arts and Crafts Week 4

Hey everyone! Did you guys like the board game craft? This week, the craft I have is... making an easy tic-tac-toe game! The great thing is, all the pieces are being stored into the board, which is a pocket, for keeping. It really looks cute, and is good for those long car or plane trips where you don't feel like reading or watching TV.
    Supplies needed:

  • Felt
  • Marker
  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • Thread

  1. Measure your piece of felt. The base/width should be how big you want your 3-by-3 to be, but the length should be double the width. For example, if the width is 3 inches long, then the length should be cut 6 inches long.
  2. Fold your piece of felt in half so the width is the same measurement as the length. Then, using your marker, draw 2 lines across and 2 lines going vertically on your felt so that a three by three square is formed. You can flip your piece over and draw on the other side too, but it is not necessary to have two boards.
  3. Your square should have a fold at the bottom, two sides that you can open up on the sides, and a top that opens too. Now, unfold your felt piece, flip it over, and fold it again so the same structure is formed but you cannot see the lines you drew. Sew a regular running stitch along the left and right sides, making sure not to accidentally sew the top. The running stitch, by the way, is the most common stitch in sewing and looks like a line. Kind of like this: -------- :)
  4. When you are done, flip the pocket you have made inside-out. The lines should be showing now, 3 sides closed, one side open, and the stitches concealed.
  5. Cut out Xs and Os in 2 different colors.
You're done! Now just find a friend to play!
I am going right now to try this craft out. It'll be fun to sew something since I haven't sewn in a while. Have fun with your new game guys, and have a great week!
